Volunteer Training

Thinking about volunteering at YouthCO? You can call or email our Volunteer and Community Engagement Coordinator with any questions you might have.

If you’re ready to get involved, check out and complete our volunteer application form

Email your completed form to volunteer@youthco.org or fax it to 604 688 4932.

Your application will be read ASAP and you’ll be contacted to set up an intake interview. The point of this interview is to give you information about YouthCO and our programs and to learn a bit about you.  That way together we can decide if it’s a good fit and determine which of our programs you might be best suited for.

Once this interview is complete we will provide you with information about how to start getting involved and sign you up for the next available Core Training.  Core Training is our mandatory training for all new staff and volunteers. It introduces you to YouthCO’s values, programs, and approaches and provides information about HIV, Hep C, Sexual Health, and Harm Reduction.  It also gives new volunteers an opportunity to meet our staff through of games, activities and discussion. Core trainings are held at least three times a year.

Once you’ve completed Core Training, you’re up and running! Everything past this point will be outlined for you clearly by our friendly YouthCO staff.

Have more questions? Our Volunteer Engagement Coordinator will be happy to help so please call 604 688 1441 or volunteer@youthco.org to get started.
